Katy Winsper Honored as the CAA Rookie of the Week

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - After helping the William and Mary women’s soccer team post a pair of shutouts during the weekend, freshman Katy Winsper has been selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week.

Winsper and the Tribe (8-3-1, 3-0-1) defensive unit held Hofstra and Northeastern scoreless in 200 minutes of play and limited them to just 15 total shots, five of which were on goal.

Thus far this season, W&M has posted shutouts in eight of its 12 matches and boasts a league-best 0.48 goals against average.

Winsper has started all 12 matches this season and has recorded three shots.

The Tribe will be in action again this weekend when it plays at James Madison and VCU.
