Tribe Falls at James Madison, 1-0

Harrisonburg, Va. - The William and Mary women’s soccer team fell at James Madison, 1-0, on Friday evening in Harrisonburg. It was the Tribe’s (8-4-1, 3-1-1) first regular-season conference loss since falling at Northeastern on Oct. 16, 2005. Additionally, it was just W&M’s second defeat in its last 10 contests.

JMU’s Corky Julien scored the game-winner off an assist from Cate Tisinger in the 71st minute. Julien fielded a pass from Tisinger in the box and shot from 12 yards out inside the right post.

Junior Claire Zimmeck and senior Emily Kittleson each recorded three shots apiece to lead the Green and Gold.

The Dukes’ goal was just the second scored against the College in the last five contests and just the third in the last 10.

JMU held an 11-6 advantage in shots but just a 3-2 edge in shots on goal.

The Tribe will return to action when it plays at Virginia Commonwealth University on Sunday at 2 p.m.
