Katie Endres Takes Fourth at Tribe Open

W&M Hosts Individuals Meet on Saturday

WILLIAMSBURG - Redshirt-junior Katie Endres (Sterling, Va.) took fourth Saturday at the Tribe Open, finishing as the top Green and Gold harrier in the 97-runner field with a time of 22:40.1. UMBC runner Alex Hyland won the race in 22:02.1. Normally an event populated by local Virginia and North Carolina schools, Division III teams from as far away as Texas made an appearance today to get an advance look at the course that will host the South and Southeast Regional in November. No team scores were kept at the meet.

W&M managed to put seven runners in the top-20 during the races, with Emily Arena (Manassas, Va.), sixth in 22:48.3, Keely Murphy (Owings, Md.), seventh in 22:53.5, and Sallie Ford (Lynchburg, Va.), ninth in 23:09.2, all joining Endres in the top-10. Kelsey Snowden (Fairfax Station, Va.) finished 12th in 23:14.2, and sophomores Ariel Burbey (Blacksburg, Va.) and Rachel Ohm (West Coxsackie, N.Y.) finished 18th and 20th, respectively.

William and Mary now faces two weeks off, before trying to defend its Colonial Athletic Association title on October 26, in Farmingdale, New York.
