Charlie Swartz Takes Fourth at Tribe Open

W&M Hosts Individuals Meet on Saturday

WILLIAMSBURG - Redshirt-sophomore Charlie Swartz (Manassas, Va.) took fourth Saturday at the Tribe Open, finishing as the top Green and Gold harrier in the 138-runner field. Normally an event populated by local Virginia and North Carolina schools, Division III teams from as far away as Texas made an appearance today to get an advance look at the course that will host the South and Southeast Regional in November. No team scores were kept at the meet.

After Swartz came through in fourth place, William and Mary put three more in the top-10, with James Picard (Midlothian, Va.) finishing sixth, Drew Midland (Virginia Beach, Va.) finishing seventh, and Karl Lang (Oak Hill, Va.) taking eighth. Redshirt-freshman Robert Sagar (Alexandria, Va.) was 14th for the Tribe, and true freshmen Brian Sklodowski (Newark, Del.) and Sean Sewell (Raleigh, N.C.) finished out the team's top seven.

William and Mary now faces two weeks off, before it will take aim at its 15th Colonial Athletic Association title on October 26, in Farmingdale, New York.
