Women's Cross Country Competes at Pre-Nationals

Tribe Finishes 24th in 35-Team White Race

TERRE HAUTE, IND - William and Mary's women's cross country team ran Saturday at the Pre-National Invitational, placing 24th in the 35-team "White" race. No. 8 Princeton won the race in an upset over No. 6 Arizona State, 149-171. Jenny Barringer of Colorado was the individual titlist, winning the six-kilometer race in 19:48.3.

Sophomore Emily Anderson (Golf, Ill.) was the team's top runner, finishing 66th overall in 21:23.5. Senior Anna Parker (Charlotte, N.C.) finished in 22:05.6 for 132nd place. Lynn Morelli (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Kayley Byrne (Oak Hill, Va.) ran 22:14 and 22:19.7, respectively, to finish in the top 150 runners out of 235. Senior Emily Gousen (Arlington, Va.) was 152nd in 22:21.1. Seniors Erin Prillaman (Midlothian, Va.) and Abby Booker (Haddonfield, N.J.) ran sixth and seventh for the Tribe, finishing in 22:49.7 and 22:50.9, respectively.

William and Mary now faces two weeks off, before it will try to defend its Colonial Athletic Association title on October 26, in Farmingdale, New York.
