Game Notes: Maine

Orono, ME - The following notes were taken from the Tribe's 21-20 win at Maine:

• W&M snapped a two-game losing streak in the series with Maine and improved to 3-1 all-time in Orono, Maine.

• With the victory, the Tribe improved to 4-3 and surpassed its entire win total from 2006 (3-8).

• W&M improved to 2-2 in CAA play, giving it two conferences wins in a season for the first time since 2005.

• The victory also snapped a three-game losing streak against CAA Northern Division teams.

• Junior quarterback Jake Phillips’ 31-yard touchdown pass to Cameron Dohse in the second quarter was the 30th of Phillips’ career. It tied him with Dan Darragh (1965-67) for eighth place on the school’s career touchdown passes list, before the third-quarter pass to Dohse put Phillips in sole possession of the position.

• With 255 yards passing, Phillips brought his career total to 4,350 yards. With 280 yards of a total offense, Phillips moved into eighth place on the school’s career list for total offense (4,630). Phillips passed Bill Deery (1972-74; 4,589) for the position.

• With 23 completions, Phillips brought his career total to 318, moving into eighth place on the school’s career list. He passed Tom Rozantz (1975-78; 315).

• Redshirt freshman Cameron Dohse became the first Tribe receiver with two touchdown catches in a game this season.

• Dohse recorded career-highs for the second-straight week in receptions (7) and receiving yards (123). In his last two games, Dohse has 15 receptions for 240 yards and three touchdowns.

• After going 0-for-7 on third-down conversions in the first half, the Tribe was 8-for-10 in the second half.

• True freshman defensive tackle Michael Stover recorded the first start of his career.
