Rookie Had Seven Receptions, 123 Yards and Two TD's in Win at Maine

RICHMOND, Va. - William and Mary redshirt freshman wide receiver Cameron Dohse (Clifton, Va./Centreville) was named the CAA Football Rookie of the Week on Monday for his effort in the Tribe’s 21-20 conference win at Maine on Saturday.

Dohse recorded career highs with seven receptions, 123 yards receiving and two touchdowns. He scored on receptions of 31 and 33 yards. Dohse surpassed his previous career highs of six receptions and 117 yards, set one game earlier at Villanova on Oct. 6.

With the Tribe trailing 14-0, Dohse gathered his first scoring reception on a 31-yard pass from Jake Phillips in the closing moments of the first half. Later in the third, Dohse corralled a tipped pass from Phillips and found the end zone for a 33-yard touchdown reception that tied the game, 14-14.

Dohse’s seven receptions tied the team’s individual season-high set by D.J. McAulay in the season-opener, and the total of 123 yards was the third-best mark by a Tribe receiver this season.

In his last two games, Dohse has 13 receptions for 240 yards and three touchdowns. He leads the squad with five touchdown receptions and is fourth in receptions (21) and second in receiving yards (417).

W&M is idle this weekend, but returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 27, hosting Massachusetts in a Homecoming contest at 1 p.m.
