Men’s Golf Finishes 10th at Belmont Fall Shootout

NASHVILLE, TENN - William and Mary’s men’s golf team finished the Belmont Fall Shootout in 10th place Tuesday after shooting 301 in the final round. Akron won the 12-team event by 10 strokes over Cleveland State and Northern Illinois. Austin Peay’s Grant Leaver won in a three-way playoff after shooting 215 (-1) in regulation.

Junior Brent Paladino (Kensington, Conn.) led the team in a tie for ninth place after shooting 218 (+2). Classmate Doug Hurson (Bethesda, Md.) had the team’s low round of the day, a one-under 71, and finished tied for 26th at 8-over. Conor O’Brien (Weatogue, Conn.) finished alone in 53rd after shooting 77, and senior Jonas Miller (Dallas, Texas) tied for 61st. Freshman Brandon Parker (Auburn, Mass.) finished with a round of 77 to move into 65th place.

The Tribe is back in action next Monday and Tuesday with the Georgetown Hoya Invitational, October 22-23 in Beallsville, Maryland. This year will be the College’s fifth consecutive appearance at the Hoya Invitational, and 16th since 1989.
