Katie Radloff Wins Five in Tri-Meet with NC State, ECU

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Sophomore Katie Radloff (Arlington, Va.) won five of six individual races in Saturday afternoon’s tri-meet with NC State and East Carolina, but was unable to will the Tribe women’s swimming team to victory in either match-up as the team fell to 0-3 (0-1 CAA) on the year. North Carolina State won its meet against the College, 194-106, while East Carolina won 195-105.

Radloff opened her night with victories against both schools in the 200 free, swimming 1:53.25. In the 50 free, she won against NC State with a time of 23.77 seconds, but was handed the first freestyle-loss of her college career against East Carolina, her first loss in 30 dual-meet races. Radloff rebounded after the first diving break by sweeping the 100 free in a time of 51.05.

Junior Marina Falcone (Potomac, Md.) earned a pair of wins on the afternoon, winning the 1000 free against ECU with a time of 10:24.21, and winning the 500 free against NC State in 5:05.56. Also noteworthy were three all-time top-10 performances. In the 200 free, sophomore Lindsay Guers (Orwigsburg, Pa.) swam 1:54.92 to rank as the seventh-fastest performer in school history. Freshman Emily Burns (Snellville, Ga.) timed 24.44 in the 50 free, ninth-best all-time at W&M. Finally, the 200 free relay team of Radloff, Guers, Burns, and Falcone timed 1:38.02, the sixth-fastest time in school history.

William and Mary has two weeks off before traveling to Fairfax, Virginia on November 2-3 for the CAA Pod Meet against Drexel and George Mason.
