Claire Zimmeck Selected as the CAA Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. - After leading the William and Mary women’s soccer team to a pair of victories during the weekend, junior forward Claire Zimmeck has been selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week. The honor marks the second time Zimmeck has earned the award this season, as she previously garnered the distinction on Oct. 1.

The Fairfax, Va., native scored five of the College’s six goals during the weekend. She earned the third hat trick of her career in the 4-1 win against Towson on Friday, while she tallied both of the Tribe’s scores in the 2-0 triumph versus George Mason on Sunday. With the impressive performances, she increased her career goals total to 39 and moved into sixth place on the program’s all-time list.

Zimmeck now leads the Colonial Athletic Association in nearly every offensive category: goals (14), game-winning goals (8), goals per game (0.88), points (28), points per game (1.75), shots (65) and shots per game (4.07). Her goals per game average ranks eighth nationally, while her points per game average ranks 24th.

The Tribe will play its final home match of the season when it hosts Georgia State on Senior Night this Friday at 7 p.m.
