Claire Zimmeck Selected to the Soccer Buzz Elite Team of the Week

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The honors continue to roll in for William and Mary junior forward Claire Zimmeck, as she has been chosen to the Soccer Buzz Elite Team of the Week. The selection marks the third time Zimmeck has been named to the team during her career. Earlier this week, she was chosen as the National Player of the Week by Top Drawer Soccer and also earned CAA Player of the Week honors.

The Fairfax, Va., native scored five goals in the victories against Towson and George Mason last weekend. She recorded her third career hat trick in the 4-1 triumph against Towson on Friday, while she scored both of W&M’s goals in the 2-0 win versus George Mason on Sunday.

With the impressive performances, Zimmeck now leads the Colonial Athletic Association in nearly every offensive category: goals (14), game-winning goals (8), goals per game (0.88), points (28), points per game (1.75), shots (65) and shots per game (4.07). Her goals per game average ranks eighth nationally, while her points per game average ranks 24th.

The Tribe will play its final home match of the season when it hosts Georgia State on Senior Night this Friday at 7 p.m.
