Brent Paladino Finishes Tied for Eighth at The Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Junior Brent Paladino (Kensington, Conn.) finished in a tie for eighth Sunday at The Landfall Tradition at one-over par, and led the Tribe men’s golf team to a 12th-place finish in the fall’s final tournament. No. 25 Virginia Tech tied with Tulsa at the top of the team leaderboard with a 54-hole score of 8-over, and was declared the team champion on the basis of the fifth player’s score in the final round. Tulsa’s Nicolas Geyger claimed the individual medal with his 9-under effort.

Paladino shot 75 today to finish with a total score of 217. Junior Doug Hurson (Bethesda, Md.) tied for 38th after shooting 80 on Sunday. Sophomore Conor O’Brien (Weatogue, Conn.) shot 77 in the final round to finish in 58th, and senior Jonas Miller (Dallas, Texas) finished in 59th place. Classmate Jimmy Femino (Manassas, Va.) saw a nine-stroke improvement from Saturday’s round, shooting 81 to finish in 60th.

With the fall season now finished, the Tribe will return to action in the Rice Intercollegiate, February 18-19 in Houston, Texas.
