Tribe to Play Non-Conference Match at Hampton on Tuesday

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The William and Mary volleyball team will take a break from conference action when it plays at Hampton on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

In its last outing, W&M (12-12, 7-4) earned a thrilling comeback victory against Hofstra, 3-2, on Saturday evening in Williamsburg. The Tribe rallied back from five points down in the fifth game to claim the win. Junior Abbi Owens registered a double-double with a team-high 17 kills and 16 digs, while sophomore Bryana Carey added 13 put-aways and eight total blocks. Junior Kim Mount also came up big and nearly posted a triple-double, totaling 46 assists, 10 digs and six kills.

As a team, the College currently ranks second in the Colonial Athletic Association with 18.49 dpg and third with 2.44 bpg. Additionally, the Green and Gold rank fifth in kills (14.34 kpg) and assists (13.32 apg).

Individually, freshman Ginny Bray ranks second in the league in blocks with 1.16 bpg, while junior Molly Bohman is fifth with 1.11 bpg. Mount ranks third with 12.12 apg, and junior Jill Nowadly stands seventh in digs with 4.17 dpg.

The Tribe is 15-0 in the all-time series against Hampton. Last season, W&M earned a 3-0 triumph in Williamsburg and recorded a .451 hitting percentage (49-8-91). Bohman played well in the contest and led the team with a match-high 12 kills on .611 hitting (12-1-18).
