HOFSTRA POSTGAME NOTES

- The following postgame notes were taken from the Tribe's 38-14 loss at Hofstra:

• W&M dropped its second-straight to fall to 4-5 on the year and 2-4 in conference play. The loss marked the first time this season the Tribe dropped back-to-back games.
• Hofstra improved to 3-2 all-time against the Tribe, winning its second-straight in the series. W&M is now 1-1 all-time at Shuart Stadium, having won the only previous meeting here in 2002.
• Junior quarterback Jake Phillips was held to s season-low 92 yards on 12-for-22 passing and failed to throw a touchdown pass for just the second time this season. The other was the loss to Virginia Tech.
• True freshman running back Terrence Riggins made his collegiate debut at Hofstra and scored on a 2-yard run on the Tribe’s second possession … Riggins became the third true freshman to see playing time this season, joining defensive back Terrell Wells and defensive lineman Michael Stover.
• Redshirt freshman linebacker Evan Francks made his first career start in place of injured linebacker Michael Pigram.
• The Tribe committed a season-high tying three turnovers, including an interception and two lost fumbles … W&M was also held to a season-low 138 yards passing.
• W&M only had four second-half possessions with the first three ending in a turnover on downs and lost fumbles, before scoring on a 16-yard pass on the fourth.
• Redshirt freshman Courtland Marriner recorded his first career touchdown reception, a 16-yard catch-and-run from Mike Potts … The play also stood as Potts’ first touchdown pass of the season.
• Sophomore wide receiver R.J. Archer extended his streak of games with a reception to 20.
• Senior tight end Drew Atchison shared the team lead with four receptions and has now caught at least one pass in 14-straight games.
