Tribe Lacrosse and Baseball Participate in Annual Heart Walk

Richmond, Va. - The William and Mary lacrosse and baseball teams recently spent a day volunteering with the 2007 Richmond Heart Walk, an annual event held at the Richmond International Raceway that benefits the American Heart Association.

The Tribe lax team helped out with greeting and directing participants, as well as collecting signatures for the “We are the Cure” and “Take the Pledge” campaigns.

The Heart Walk draws around 15,000 people annually and raises money and awareness about cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

The American Heart Association is the largest voluntary health organization working to prevent, treat and defeat heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases. These diseases devastate millions of people of all ages and kill more than 910,000 Americans each year.
