Tribe Continues Play at Kitty Harrison Invitational

Sophomore Lauren Sabacinski remained perfect in the singles at the event.

Chapel Hill, N.C. - The Tribe wrapped up the second day of competition at the Kitty Harrison Invitational on Saturday. Sophomore Lauren Sabacinski remained perfect in singles at the event, while the Tribe also tallied a pair of doubles wins on the day.

In pairs’ action, Sabacinski and fellow sophomore Magdalena Bresson recorded an 8-4 win over Betts and Preeg of Furman. Sophomore Carmen Pop also took part in doubles action, pairing with College of Charleston junior Holly Dowse. The Pop-Dowse duo went 1-1 on the afternoon, recording a 9-7 win over Williams and Alexander of Virginia.

Sabacinski moved to a perfect 3-0 at the Invite in singles with a straight-sets victory on Saturday. The Plantation, Fla., native defeated Oksana Krutiyenko of Maryland, 6-1, 6-1, to improve to 12-3 on the season.

The Kitty Harrison Invitational will wrap up with competition on Sunday.
