Men’s Cross Country Earns At-Large Bid to the NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, IND - William and Mary’s men’s cross country team was awarded its 11th-consecutive trip the NCAA Championships on Sunday, a day after taking third at the Southeast Region Championships. The Tribe is one of only six schools in the nation to make every NCAA meet since 1997.

Ranked 25th in the latest USTFCCCA national poll, W&M took third at the Southeast Regional Saturday, upsetting No. 9 Virginia and finishing only five points behind regional champion and 11th-ranked N.C. State. Two-time All-American Christo Landry (Falls Church, Va.) finished fourth, and fellow senior Ian Fitzgerald (Glenshaw, Pa.) was sixth.

The Tribe’s top eight runners will make the trip out to Terre Haute, Indiana for the national championship race on Monday, November 19. On Saturday, November 17, the College’s next 12 runners will travel to New York City to defend its title at the IC4A Championships.
