Erin Skipper Honored as the CAA Rookie of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. - After a pair of impressive performances against Delaware and Towson, freshman Erin Skipper has been selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week. The honor marks the second time this season Skipper has earned the award. Additionally, it is the fifth time this season that a W&M freshman has garnered the honor.

Skipper averaged 5.33 kills per game, 2.00 digs per game and 1.00 blocks per game against the Blue Hens and the Tigers. The Yorktown, Va., native totaled a team-high 19 kills with seven digs and three total blocks versus UD. She followed up that performance by recording a match-high 13 put-aways with five digs, three blocks and two service aces in the 3-0 victory against Towson.

One of the league’s top freshmen, Skipper leads the College and ranks ninth in the CAA with 3.41 kpg.

The fourth-seeded Tribe will begin its quest for the CAA Tournament title when it squares off against fifth-seeded James Madison in a quarterfinal match on Friday at 5 p.m. in Newark, Del.
