Kim Mount and Ginny Bray Earn All-CAA Honors

Newark, Del. - After posting outstanding seasons, William and Mary junior setter Kim Mount and freshman middle blocker Ginny Bray have been selected to all-conference teams in voting by the league’s coaches. Mount earned second-team honors, while Bray was chosen to the All-Rookie Team.

One of the Colonial Athletic Association’s top setters, Mount finished the regular season ranked third in the league with 11.72 assists per game. Additionally, the Corte Madera, Calif., native averaged 0.53 kills per game, 2.72 digs per game and 0.39 blocks per game. Mount recorded 10 double-doubles this season and nearly earned a triple-double in the win against Hofstra on Oct. 27. Among her other impressive performances was a 53-assist effort in the win at UNC Wilmington, an effort that nearly equaled the school record for assists in a three-game match and earned her CAA Co-Player of the Week honors.

Bray made an immediate and significant impact for the Tribe during her first season and ranked second in the conference with 1.17 blocks per game. The Cary, N.C., native also averaged 1.94 kills per game. Highlighting her impressive rookie season was a three-match stretch in late September when she averaged 3.3 kills per game on .349 hitting with 0.8 blocks per game. The efforts earned her CAA Rookie of the Week honors.

The fourth-seeded Tribe will begin its quest for the CAA Tournament title when it squares off against fifth-seeded James Madison in a quarterfinal match on Friday at 5 p.m. in Newark, Del. The winner of Friday’s contest will advance to the semifinals and play top-seeded Delaware on Saturday at 5 p.m.
