Emily Anderson Leads Tribe to Runner-up Showing at ECACs

Five from W&M Earn All-East Honors

BRONX, N.Y. - William and Mary’s women’s cross country team put together an outstanding effort Saturday at the ECAC Championships, taking home the silver medal for the second year in a row with 58 points. Villanova won the team title with 43 points and put three runners in the top-five, led by individual champion Callie Hogan in 17:48.

Sophomore Emily Anderson (Golf, Ill.) led the Tribe for the second race in a row, taking fourth overall in 17:57 to earn All-East honors. Also earning All-East accolades (for finishing in the top-25) were seniors Erin Prillaman (Midlothian, Va.), 11th in 18:22, Emily Gousen (Arlington, Va.), 15th in 18:28, Anna Parker (Charlotte, N.C.), 16th in 18:29, and sophomore Kayley Byrne (Oak Hill, Va.), 20th in 18:35. Sophomore Keely Murphy (Owings, Md.) finished as the sixth Tribe harrier in 35th place (19:00), and senior Katie Endres (Sterling, Va.) rounded off the team scoring in 36th place with a time of 19:02. Junior Lynn Morelli (Philadelphia, Pa.) won the coaches’ race in 18:59.

With the cross country season now complete, the team will begin training for the indoor track season that kicks off in early December.
