Men’s Cross Country Takes Third at IC4A Championships

BRONX, N.Y. - William and Mary’s men’s cross country team battled valiantly Saturday morning at the IC4A Championships, finishing third in a deeper-than-usual field of 15 teams with 121 points. Georgetown claimed the team trophy with 38 points over Duke (73 points), and also took home the individual title when Daniel Nunn crossed the finish line in 25:13.

Coaches' Race Results

Charlie Swartz (Manassas, Va.) was the top harrier for the Green and Gold, running 25:33 for 11th place and All-East honors. Drew Midland (Virginia Beach, Va.) also finished in the top-20 with his time of 25:39, finishing 17th overall. Senior James Picard (Midlothian, Va.) gave the Tribe three All-East individuals with his 22nd-place effort of 25:46 (the top-25 finishers are All-East). Junior Harry Miller (Portland, Ore.) was fourth for the College, finishing 34th in 25:56, and senior Jared Campbell (Franklin, Ind.) was 42nd in 26:03. Senior Karl Lang (Oak Hill, Va.) and redshirt-freshman Skeeter Morris (Burkeville, Va.) finished sixth and seventh for the Tribe in 26:11 and 26:14, respectively. Redshirt-freshman Robert Sagar (Alexandria, Va.) ran 26:52 to take fifth in the coaches’ race.

William and Mary’s top seven runners will compete Monday at the NCAA Championships, looking to equal or better last year’s eighth-place finish. The race begins shortly after noon EST in Terre Haute, Indiana.
