Distance Medley Relays Earns Post-Season Bids at Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - William and Mary's track and field teams earned a pair of victories and a pair of post-season invitations Friday evening at the Texas Roadhouse Carolina Classic.

The women's distance medley relay team of Meghan Burns (Coopersburg, Pa.), Ashley Madonick (Seaside Park, N.J.), Allie Lewis (Roanoke, Va.), and Emily Anderson (Golf, Ill.) won their event in an ECAC-qualifying time of 11:48.36. The men's DMR took the first step towards defending their IC4A crown, qualifying for the championships with a time of 10:15.14. The members of the team were David Groff (Centreville, Va.), Ryan Jones (Harrisburg, Pa.), Cabell Rosanelli (Richmond, Va.), and Brian Sklodowski (Newark, Del.).

Sophomore thrower Brandon Oliver (Richmond, Va.) also had a good evening, winning the men's weight throw with a personal-best effort of 49' 0.75". The throw makes him the 10th-best thrower in school history with the 35-pound weight.

The Classic continues tomorrow with a full days worth of action.
