Guevel, Kazuba Achieve ECAC-Worthy Performances in Chapel Hill

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - A pair of ECAC-qualifying performances was the prize Saturday for the William and Mary women’s track and field team, competing at the UNC Texas Roadhouse Carolina Classic.

Complete Weekend Results

Freshman Katie Guevel (Burlington, Kan.) continued to attack the record books with abandon, resetting the school record in the 60m hurdles for the third time this season after running 8.84 seconds in the finals of the event to finish ninth. Her time also qualifies her for the ECAC Championships, where she is also qualified for the 55m hurdles and the pentathlon. Sophomore Nicole Kazuba (Chantilly, Va.) is also having her own personal Groundhog Day, clearing the ECAC-qualifying height in the pole vault for the third time with her third-place effort of 12’ 1.5”.

The Tribe is back in action next weekend, February 9, with the Vince Brown Invitational in Newport News, Virginia.
