Men's Tennis Ranked No. 45

Williamsburg - The William and Mary men’s tennis team garnered the No. 45 spot in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings released on Feb. 5. Last week, the Tribe was ranked No. 38, but dropped a tight 4-3 match at Harvard over the weekend and fell seven spots. W&M is currently 6-3 on the year.

The Tribe went 2-1 during a three-match road trip up the East coast. The College defeated No. 75 Brown, 4-3, in Providence, R.I., on Jan. 31, prior to its loss at Harvard on Feb. 1. The Crimson jumped 24 spots in the national rankings to No. 51 this week following its upset of the Tribe. W&M capped the stretch with a 4-3 win over Purdue on Feb. 3 in Boston.

The College returns to action with a pair of doubleheaders on Saturday, Feb. 9, and Sunday, Feb. 10. On Saturday, W&M will welcome Norfolk State to Williamsburg at 9 a.m., before battling CAA foe George Mason at 2 p.m. The Tribe opens Sunday against No. 65 Northwestern at 11 a.m., before facing Howard at 6 p.m. All four matches will be played at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.
