Tribe Jumps Two Spots in ITA Poll

Williamsburg - Following a trio of victories over the weekend, the William and Mary men’s tennis team jumped two spots to No. 43 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings released on Feb. 12. The Tribe has been ranked among the top 45 in each of the four national polls this season after beginning the season at No. 43 on Jan. 8.

W&M upped its season ledger to 9-3 overall with wins over Norfolk State, George Mason and then-No. 65 Northwestern. W&M downed the instate foes in a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 9, before disposing of the Wildcats on Sunday, Feb. 10. In the win over Northwestern, the College dropped the doubles point, before sweeping the singles position to claim the victory.

The Tribe returns to action with a trio of matches on Friday, Feb. 15, and Sunday, Feb. 17. Defending CAA Champion and No. 72-ranked Georgia State travels to Williamsburg on Friday, Feb. 15, at 5 p.m. The Green and Gold will host a doubleheader on Sunday, Feb. 17, when it battles No. 24 Rice at 10 a.m. and CAA foe James Madison at 4 p.m.
