Men’s Golf Tied for Eighth After First Round of Cuthbert Cup

Paladino, O’Brien Tied for 17th

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Junior Brent Paladino (Kensington, Conn.) and sophomore Conor O’Brien (Weatogue, Conn.) tied for 17th Sunday after the first round of the Cuthbert Cup at Kiawah Island, leading the William and Mary men’s golf team t a tie for eighth at 17-over. Western Carolina, Washington State, and Richmond are all tied for the lead at 4-over, with Western Carolina’s Andres Cuenca leading the field by two strokes at 5-under.

First Round Results

Paladino and O’Brien each shot 74 on the par-72 course. Third for the Tribe was junior Doug Hurson (Bethesda, Md.), tied for 40th with a round of 77. Freshman Brandon Parker (Auburn, Mass.) tied for 52nd after shooting 80, and senior Jonas Miller (Dallas, Texas) rounded out the team’s effort in a tie for 61st.

The Cuthbert Cup continues tomorrow before finishing with a final round on Tuesday.
