Sellers Named CAA Co-Player of the Week

Williamsburg - William and Mary senior midfielder Jaime Sellers (Kennebunk, Maine) was named the Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week on Monday after leading the Tribe to a 2-1 start to the season.

Sellers, a Second-Team All-CAA selection last season, scored 15 goals in three games, including a career-high eight in Wednesday’s win at Longwood, and added one assist for a total of 16 points.

In Sunday’s loss to third-ranked Duke, Sellers netted a hat trick in the first half alone and finished with a team-high four goals. Sellers also caused a pair of turnovers against the Blue Devils. In the Tribe’s 21-9 season-opening win over Binghamton, Sellers scored three goals, before following with the eight-goal effort in the 22-16 win over Longwood. Sellers added an assist for nine points against the Lancers and also grabbed a team-high six draw controls.

After scoring a goal in each of the Tribe’s 16 games last season, Sellers ran her scoring streak to 19 games during the week. She added 11 total draw controls. She was 6-for-7 on eight-meter shots in the three games, including 3-for-4 at Longwood.
