Men’s Track Earns Three IC4A Qualifications at Mason Last Chance

FAIRFAX, VA - William and Mary’s men’s track and field team had a momentous Sunday at the Mason Last Chance, picking up three IC4A qualifications for later in this week.

In the 1,000m run, junior David Groff (Centreville, Va.) won in an IC4A-qualifying time of 2:27.44 and sophomore Cabell Rosanelli (Richmond, Va.) also earned a spot at the IC4A Championships with his runner-up time of 2:28.93. Redshirt-freshman Sean Mahoney (Wayne, Pa.) was third in 2:30.23, and true freshman Brian Sklodowski (Newark, Del.) was fourth in 2:30.42.

Sophomore Drew Midland (Virginia Beach, Va.) cut exactly six seconds off of his personal-best at 3,000m, winning the event in an IC4A-qualifying 8:23.91. Sophomore Brandon Oliver (Richmond, Va.) had a pair of runner-up showings, throwing the weight 48’ 8.75” and putting the shot a season-best 47’ 10”.

Sophomore Dan Klatzkin (Gaithersburg, Md.) was fourth in the shot put with a put of 46’ 3.25”, and senior Brandon Evans (Virginia Beach, Va.) took fourth in the long jump with a jump of 21’ 0.5”.

William and Mary’s qualifiers will compete at the IC4A Championships this weekend, March 7-8 in Boston, Massachusetts.
