Tribe Gymnast Stephanie Bevan Honored By ECAC

Sophomore Receives Coaches Choice Award

Williamsburg - William and Mary sophomore gymnast Stephanie Bevan (Bridgewater, N.J.) was named the Coaches Choice Award Co-Winner by the ECAC this week after her efforts in the Tribe's meet at North Carolina on Saturday.

After missing almost the entire pre-season due to an injury, Bevan stepped into the floor line-up for the first time this season and nailed her routine for a career-high score of 9.600. Behind Bevan, the Tribe recorded a season-high in the event (47.950) at UNC.

The honor was the first weekly ECAC award for Bevan and the fifth for the Tribe this season. Freshman Melissa Cream has been named ECAC Rookie of the Week twice, while seniors Tricia Long and Stevie Waldman have each been named ECAC Gymnast of the Week once.

The Tribe returns to action on Sunday night, visiting N.C. State.
