Katie Radloff Sets School, Conference Record on Final Day of NCAA Championships

Sophomore Finishes 20th in 100 Free

COLUMBUS, OHIO - William and Mary sophomore Katie Radloff (Arlington, Va.) finished competition at the NCAA Championships Saturday morning, setting the school and conference records in the 100 free with her time of 48.91 seconds to place 20th in the preliminary rounds.

Radloff won her heat with the time, 34-hundredths of a second faster than the 49.25 she swam to win the CAA title last month. That she didn’t make the finals is an indication of how ridiculously fast the national championship has been this year, as last year, 48.91 would have been the ninth-fastest time in preliminaries, and in every year since 2000 except last year and this one, would have placed her into the championship heat.

With the college season now concluded, Radloff will begin training for the U.S. Olympic Trials, July 3-6 in Omaha, Nebraska. She will compete in the 50-meter freestyle and the 100-meter freestyle.
