Tribe to Play at Liberty on Tuesday

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - After taking two of three games against Delaware during the weekend, the William and Mary baseball team will return to action with a non-conference contest at Liberty on Tuesday at 6 p.m. It will mark the first of two games between the teams this season, as W&M will host the Flames on April 15.

During the weekend series against the Blue Hens, senior Paul Juliano went 4-for-6 with a grand slam, five RBI and two runs scored. Additionally, the Northfield, N.J., native drew four walks to post a .800 on-base percentage. Senior Tim Park also put up impressive numbers and went 5-for-11 during the series.

As a team, the College (19-10, 9-6) leads the Colonial Athletic Association in batting average (.339), slugging percentage (.533), runs scored (224), hits (324), RBI (198), doubles (75), total bases (510) and stolen bases (54).

Individually, a number of Tribe players rank among the conference’s best in numerous categories. Leading the College is junior Mike Sheridan, who is first in the conference in hits (48) and ranks among the league’s top 10 in batting average (.425), slugging percentage (.717), runs scored (36), RBI (36), doubles (10), home runs (7), total bases (78).

Liberty enters Tuesday’s contest with a 12-12 record. During the weekend, the Flames began their conference slate by losing two of three games against 18th-ranked Coastal Carolina. David Giammaresi leads the team with a .400 batting average, while Cody Brown is hitting .347 with two home runs and 19 RBI.

Last season, the Tribe posted a 2-0 record against LU as it earned an 11-1 victory at Plumeri Park and an 8-3 triumph in Lynchburg, Va.

W&M in 9-4 in non-conference games this season.
