Women’s Golf Tied For Fourth After First Round at Lady Seahawk

WALLACE, N.C. - William and Mary’s women’s golf team had every player shoot in the 70s for only the third time in school history, combining for a score of 305 to stand tied for fourth with one round in the books at the UNCW Lady Seahawk Invitational, nine strokes behind Campbell University. Play was halted by darkness near the end of the second round, which will be completed tomorrow along with the tournament’s third round. Belen Diaz Cisneros from Campbell and Abby Bools from East Carolina are tied for the lead after shooting even-par 72s.

First Round Results

Sarah Whitney (Hingham, Mass.) and Marissa Sprick (Windermere, Fla.) are tied for 10th overall after shooting 75 (+3). Senior Erika Oldenkamp (Hinsdale, Ill.) is tied for 27th at 5-over (77), and freshman Avi Hockfield (Gladwyne, Pa.) carded 78 to tie for 37th. Sophomore Morgan Stepanek (Guilford, Conn.) is tied for 43rd after shooting 79. The team total of 305 is tied for the sixth-best round ever in school history, and is tied for the second-best first round all-time.

The invitational concludes tomorrow.
