Moulton-Levy, Zoricic Receive CAA Weekly Honor

Williamsburg - For the second time this season, the William and Mary women’s tennis duo of senior Megan Moulton-Levy and junior Kat Zoricic were named Colonial Athletic Association Doubles Team of the Week on April 8. The duo also garnered the accolade on March 9. The Tribe also remained the national top 25 in the ITA computer rankings released on Tuesday.

Moulton-Levy and Zoricic won their seventh straight match, clinching the doubles point against Old Dominion on April 2 with an 8-5 victory over Charleen Haahoff and Nadine Fahoum at the top doubles slot. The win pushed the duo’s season mark to 24-7, including a 17-4 ledger in dual matches. Moulton-Levy and Zoricic also tallied straight-set singles victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 position, respectively, against the Monarchs. It marked the fourth time over the last two seasons that Moulton-Levy and Zoricic have received the honor. The weekly accolade is the 14th of Moulton-Levy’s W&M career and the fifth of Zoricic’s career.

The Tribe remained in the ITA national top-25 released on April 8. W&M garnered the No. 22 slot in the rankings fol-lowing its fourth straight victory over ODU. The Tribe, who improved to 13-8 on the year, has been ranked among the top 25 teams in the nation for 10 weeks this season.

W&M will host Richmond on Wednesday, April 9, at the Busch Tennis Courts. The contest is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. The Tribe will honor senior Megan Moulton-Levy, who will be competing in her final regular season home match for the Tribe. The Monroe, Mich., native is a four-time ITA All-American (second most in W&M history) and holds the W&M school record for doubles victories.

Moulton-Levy is also a three-time winner of the CAA Player of the Year Award and the only female player in the his-tory of the ITA National Arthur Ashe Award for Leadership and Sportsmanship to win the accolade in back-to-back seasons (2006 and 2007). Her 118 career singles wins ranks third in W&M history, while her 237 combined (singles and doubles) wins is the second-best in the program’s annals.
