W&M Sweeps Richmond on Senior Day
The College won its fifth straight match, improving to 14-8 overall on the year.

Williamsburg - On a day in which the No. 22 William and Mary womens tennis team celebrated the career of senior standout Megan Moulton-Levy, the Tribe stormed past instate foe Richmond, 7-0, on Wednesday afternoon at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center. The Tribe swept the Spiders for its fifth straight victory and improved to 14-8 on the year.
W&M opened the match by sweeping the doubles slate to tally the initial point of the contest. The sophomore tandem of Carmen Pop and Lauren Sabacinski notched its fourth win of the year by breezing past Isabell Arana and Jelena Zivanovic, 8-1, at the No. 3 position. Moulton-Levy and junior teammate Kat Zoricic clinched the doubles point for the Tribe with their eighth straight win at the No. 1 doubles slot. The No. 16-ranked pair nationally disposed of Ashlee Vosters and Pamela Duran, 8-5. Junior Klaudyna Kasztelaniec and sophomore Ragini Acharya continued to roll for the College at the No. 2 slot as well with an 8-6 win over Erin Clark and Xenia Schneider. It was the duos fifth straight win.
The Tribe made quick work of the Spiders in singles as well with straight-set wins at all six positions. Kasztelaniec opened the W&M onslaught with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph over Kelly Tidwell at the No. 4 position. Acharya brought the Tribe within a single victory of the team win, downing Vosters, 6-0, 6-3, at the No. 3 position for her 60th career singles victory.
Zoricic clinched the Green and Gold victory with her fifth straight win at the No. 2 spot. The Etobicoke, Ontario native defeated Clark, 6-0, 6-3, in tallying her 21st singles win of the year. Moulton-Levy completed a perfect senior day with her sixth straight singles win upending Duran, 6-2, 6-1, at the top singles position. The win bumped her singles ledger to 26-6 overall.
Pop and junior Barbara Zidek capped the W&M sweep with wins at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots. Pop won her 10th dual match of the season with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Schneider, while Zidek won her third straight affair, 6-3, 6-3, over Arana.
The Tribe will look to defend its Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship at the CAA Tournament slated for April 17-20 at the Huntington Park Tennis Center in Newport News, Va. W&M has claimed 19 of the 22 womens tennis championships in CAA history. The league office will release the seeding for the event early next week.
