Brent Paladino Named First-Team All-CAA

First First-Team Honoree Since 2005

WILLIAMSBURG - William and Mary junior Brent Paladino (Kensington, Conn.) became only the second Tribe golfer to be named First-Team All-Colonial Athletic Association Friday night, after a spectacular campaign that ranks among the very best in school history.

Entering the CAA Championships, Paladino’s season average of 72.20 strokes per round ranks first in school history by nearly a full stroke, and his career average of 74.06 is tops all-time by a quarter-stroke. Paladino set two of the school’s top three 54-hole tournament scores in the fall, and set the school records for 36-holes (8-under) and 54-holes (6-under) at the Mid-Pines Intercollegiate. He has played 23 rounds this season all under79 strokes, only the third player in school history to go a full season without shooting a round in the 80s.

Paladino is the College’s first first-team honoree since Tim Pemberton ’05 in 2005, and joins Pemberton as the only two golfers so honored (Pemberton also was first-team in 2002). Both the first and second all-conference teams were announced Friday night at the CAA Banquet, along with the CAA’s major award winners.
