Tribe’s Waldman Competes at NCAA Regional

W&M Gymnast Finishes 24th in All-Around

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - William and Mary senior gymnast Stevie Waldman (Downingtown, Pa.) finished 24th in the all-around portion of the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Southeastern Regional late Saturday evening on the University of Florida campus.

Waldman, who was making her second consecutive visit to the prestigious meet, posted a four-event score of 37.975. Florida’s Melanie Sinclair won the event with an all-around total of 39.650.

Waldman’s best score of the evening came on her specialty event, the uneven bars, as she flowed to a mark of 9.700, which placed her 25th overall in the outstanding field. Her next best score came on the floor exercise, where she posted a mark of 9.625. Waldman finished 34th-overall on the beam (9.575) and tallied a mark of 9.075 on the vault.

Waldman will rejoin her teammates for one last time, next weekend, as the College will travel to compete in the USAG Collegiate National Championships. The event will start next Thursday evening in Shreveport, La., and will run through to Saturday. The event will be hosted by Centenary.
