William and Mary Ranked 30th in Soccer Buzz National Poll

Tribe Back in Rankings for First Time Since Preseason

WILLIAMSBURG - More than just the 401 fans who came to Senior Night last Thursday were impressed by the William and Mary women's soccer as they defeated Old Dominion to claim the CAA regular season title for the third year in a row. The national polls are starting to take notice as well, with Soccer Buzz listing the Tribe 30th in its poll of November 3. It is the first time W&M has been ranked in the national top-30 since the preseason poll had the College at 28th.

William and Mary will look to defend and improve its ranking this weekend, as it hosts the 2008 CAA Championships at Albert-Daly Field. The semifinal round will take place Friday, November 7, with second-seeded James Madison meeting the winner of a quarterfinal between UNC Wilmington and Northeastern at 4:30 p.m. before W&M hosts the winner of the Hofstra/Old Dominion quarterfinal at 7 p.m. The two semifinal victors will meet Sunday, November 9, at 1 p.m. in the league championship game.
