Andrew Hoxie Named Third-Team All-American by the NSCAA

Kansas City, Kan. - William and Mary Tribe senior Andrew Hoxie was named a third-team All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) on Wednesday. Hoxie is first Tribe player to earn All-American recognition since Phil Hucles in 2003.

The All-American honor is just the latest accolade for Hoxie following a stellar senior season. Hoxie, who led the conference in points, goals, and assists, was named the CAA Player of the Year and earned first-team honors. Hoxie also earned first-team All-Region honors and was named to both the ECAC Division I All-Star Team and the Top Drawer Soccer First-Team.

Hoxie was the top offensive performer in the CAA in 2009, tying for the conference lead with 10 goals and topping the league with 12 assists and 32 points. The Newport News, Virginia native, who ranked third in the nation in assists per game and 11th in points per game, tallied at least one point in 12 of the Tribe’s 19 contests.

Last week, Hoxie was one of 62 college seniors from 44 Division I schools to be selected to participate in the 2010 adidas MLS Soccer Combine in preparation for the 2010 MLS SuperDraft. If selected, Hoxie will be the seventh member of the Tribe to be selected in MLS drafts, and the first since Phil Hucles was selected in the fourth round of the 2004 MLS SuperDraft by the Chicago Fire.
