Men's Tennis Wraps Up Play at the Wolfpack Invitational

RALEIGH, N.C. - The William and Mary men's tennis team wrapped up play at the Wolfpack Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Green and Gold tallied seven doubles victories on the second day of the event led by the trio of wins from the duo of senior Ben Guthrie and Damon Niquet.

Guthrie and Niquet improved to 5-2 on the season, posting a 3-1 doubles ledger on the day. The duo opened with a tiebreaker victory, 6-5 (4), over N.C. State's Simon Norenius and Thomas Weigel. Guthrie and Niquet also tallied a pair of wins over Elon teams. The tandem notched a tiebreaker victory, 6-5 (2), over Cameron Silverman and Stefan Fortmann, before downing Juan Madrid and Jordan Kaufman, 6-3.

Junior Will Juggins and sophomore Scott Huang split matches on the day. The pair opened with a 6-3 triumph over N.C. State's Austin Powell and Nick Horton and also knocked off Robert Lindgren and Brian Kowalski of Elon in a tiebreaker, 6-5 (2). The victories upped Juggins and Huang's season ledger to 4-3.

Two other Tribe teams posted victories on the day. The senior duo of John Banks and Ben Hoogland bounced Elon's Stefan Fortmann and Robert Lindgren in a tiebrear, 6-5 (5), for their seventh victory of the year. Junior Zach Braig and redshirt freshman Austin Davidow paired together for the first time at the event and picked up a 6-3 win over Dan Sablik and Ismael Sanchez of Elon.
 
The Tribe returns to action when it opens the dual-match season with a home doubleheader on Tuesday, Jan. 14. W&M hosts in-state foe Norfolk State at 10 a.m., before welcoming Campbell to the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center at 5 p.m.
