WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary Athletics inducted its Hall of Fame Class of 2018 on March 24. Men's Gymnastic's Daniel Krovich '92 was among the nine former student-athletes and one team to earn the prestigious distinction. William & Mary's iconic former head coach Cliff Gauthier refers to Daniel Krovich as "one of the team's most dominant all-arounders ever" in the program's long history. 
 
Krovich, who hailed from Camp Hill, Pa., was a two-time team captain (1990-91, 1991-92) and helped lead the program to the 1992 ECAC Championship and a runner-up finish in the same event in 1991.  Krovich won the NCAA Regionals on the floor in 1991, with a school-record tying score of 9.85 (which also was the national high when he performed it).  Krovich's performance at this meet beat the eventual national champion for that year – and the 2nd, 4th and 7th-place winners – unfortunately, after the regional event, he came down with a severe case of the shin splints and wasn't able to compete at a full level. 
 
His career-best finish on the vault (10th) at the NCAAs Championships came as a sophomore. While it is not possible to really compare scores from other eras in the sport any longer (due to multiple changes in the sport's scoring systems), Krovich's performances remained well represented in the school's all-time top performances until the sport's major scoring change in 2008. 
 
Under the "old" system, Krovich was tied for the best floor score, was fourth in both the all-around and vault, fifth on the rings and seventh on parallel bars.  He earned 11 total All-ECAC honors, including three-straight on the floor and was a 14-time state champion (out of a possible 21 in the span), including three-straight years on all-around, floor and rings.  Krovich's career was shortened by a knee injury in his senior year.  In 1990 and 1991 he was a first-team All-American Scholar-Athlete while majoring in chemistry. He went on to get a PhD in pharmacology at Johns Hopkins and later became the director of the Atlanta Film Festival. He is now a Contact Center Supervisor at Delta Dental in Pennsylvania.
